How Can Green Tea Help Me Lose Weight?

I've heard it many times of how people were able to lose weight by drinking green tea. Those who live in East Asia seem to believe that not only can it be used for medicinal purposes, that green tea really is effective in losing weight.

Obesity and excess weight gain is a problem in our society and not only does it lead to diabetes and cardiac-related diseases, if there was a remedy to help me lose weight, I know that green tea can definitely be effective.

But I searched for answers if green tea can help me lose weight and here is what I learned.

Green tea has been studied and researched on variety of humans and also animals.

Studies and research on green tea have shown:

Increase Your Metabolism

The America Journal of Nutrition reported that people who consumed the green tree extract had a significant increase in energy expenditure. The rate of metabolism increased by 4%. Metabolism is the amount of energy (calories) your body burns to maintain itself. You can be eating, drinking and even sleeping, your body is constantly burning calories. This tea helps lose weight through the increase of the rate of metabolism.

Promote Thermogenesis

As for weight loss, the use of green tree pills that use green tea extract has shown to create a thermogenic effect which helps burn fat. The process of Thermogenesis is when the body generates heat or energy by increasing the metabolic rate above normal. In other words, a natural process in which fat is burned to produced body heat. Because of this, people are able to lose weight.

Regulation Glucose and Inhibit Fat Absorption

Researchers have found that the catechins contained in this tea have helped inhibit the movement of glucose into the fat cells. Catechins are polyphenolic antioxidant plant metabolites and belong to the family of flavonoids (flavan-3-ols). These compounds are found in many teas due to the tea-plant camellia sinensis and the same plan that the tea comes from.

The USDA has reported that the catechins can also enhance the insulin in the body and inhibit the liver's production of glucose and lower blood sugar thus helping diabetics. So, the tea acts as a glucose regulator.

Also, it should be known that the tea works much better than black tea or oolong tea because the tea leaves are not fermented before steaming and drying.

Enhance Exercise Endurance

In studies with mice, mice who ate green tea extracts were able to outrun mice that have not been treated by 30%. Studies on humans have shown that green tea extract in a 10 weeks have shown that their endurance exercise performance was boosted up by 24%. So, the results show that the tea extra is beneficial for improving endurance capacity and also can help aid in weight loss.

Reduce Appetite and Promote Weight Loss

The University of Chicago found that the tea caused rats to lose 21 percent of their body weight and their food consumption was 60% less after seven days of injections of the tea.

This tea helped people lose weight and a decrease in Body Mass Index (BMI) and also LDL (bad cholesterol). Researchers feel that not only does green tea help reduce appetite, it helps people burn bad calories and also lead to weight loss.

There are so many benefits that this tea offers and to have it aid to your weight loss today with daily exercise and eating right can definitely help anyone lose weight.
